Ralph Goodlet is senior vice president of regulatory affairs for Hunt Power. He is responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements in multiple jurisdictions for Hunt Power and affiliated companies, including Sharyland Utilities.
Prior to joining Hunt Power, Goodlet worked for GDS Associates as a senior project manager for 10 years. While at GDS, he assisted Hunt Power in obtaining approval to form the first new electric utility in Texas in more than 30 years. During his 10-year tenure at GDS, Goodlet provided regulatory and litigation support for clients in proceedings to establish rates and policies for regulated utilities. Additionally, he has been active in activities to implement deregulation of electric utilities in Texas and has provided assistance to the government of India involving efforts to privatize electric utilities in that country.
Goodlet began his work in regulation with the Public Utility Commission of Texas as a staff accountant in the telecommunications division. His responsibilities included the evaluation of utility filings and analysis of financial information. While at the Commission, Goodlet was instrumental in the development of an annual filing to assist the Commission staff in efforts to monitor the earnings of utilities.
Goodlet received a bachelor of business administration in accounting from Texas Tech University and a master of business administration from Southwest Texas State University. He has testified before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, the Delaware Public Service Commission and in Federal District Court. Additionally, he has served on the Texas State Society of CPAs Conference Committee for Natural Gas, Telecommunications and Electric Industry. He is a licensed CPA in Texas.
